Here at Havenly, we regularly help parents-to-be with the daunting task of decorating a nursery. There’s so much to do before your little one arrives – and we truly believe that setting the scene for your new family member should be an opportunity to relax and appreciate the good times to come.
We were excited when Ashley, the LA-based blogger behind Style Editrix, came to us to help dream up a beautiful and on-budget nursery for her baby boy.
We paired Ashley, who is not only a mom-to-be but also a first-time home owner, with Nikoletta, a new designer on the Havenly team. Ashley and Nikoletta worked together to create a charming, functional, and calming gender-neutral nursery.
On working with Havenly, Ashley said: “I was really overwhelmed with designing an entire house on my own (since we are first time homeowners) so I was so excited to learn about Havenly. It’s so affordable and great to rely on an experienced designer and still stick to a budget. I am so excited to see my rooms all come together with an elegant and cohesive look!”
The playful space has a subtle safari theme with an enormous stuffed giraffe standing proudly in the corner and two white-and-natural straw baskets to hold the baby’s toys.
With clean lines, gold accents, white walls and furniture – this nursery is bright, open, and serene. Most importantly, it’s functional. There’s an enormous grey arm chair for Mom and Dad to sit and nurse, a pristine changing table, and a soft grey-and-white trellis rug that’s both safe for the baby to explore on as well as impervious to spills.
To top off the room’s playful yet calming feel, Ashley worked with California Closets to ensure there’s great storage space for all the baby’s needs as he grows!
