We’re going to start this post by saying: an outdoor kitchen is can be a total luxury. But! There are things you can do to your outdoor space to make them more outdoor kitchen-like. The last thing you want to do is spend a ton of time cooking inside in the summer. It’s too darn hot.

Usually, when you hear “outdoor kitchen,” beautiful imagery from catalogues and Pinterest pop into your mind. Like these beautiful images we found on House Beautiful:

We pulled together some tips so you can have an outdoor kitchen without breaking the bank.

Create an area next to your grill for food prep. Add stools for additional seating and even more of a “kitchen counter” feel.

Make sure you have the right lighting–for ambiance and for safety.

Invest in the right grilling tools to make you feel fancy. If you make the space feel right, you’ll be spending most of your cooking time outside, so using the right tools will make a difference.

If you want to dish out a little extra, and expand your outdoor dinner party menu, get a pizza oven.

Use a cool cooler to store drinks.

And last but not least, arrange flowers in a vase, just like you would in your indoor kitchen. It makes a difference!
