One our most beloved hobbies here at Havenly is entertaining. Not only does it give us an excuse to decorate, but the premise is simple, as we love bringing our team together after a long day’s work.

We were so flattered when Sarah Schiear of the popular lifestyle brand, Salt House Studio, approached us about partnering with her for an exciting evening filled with fresh food, lavish cocktails, and most importantly–friends! The event was held in her gorgeous Brooklyn apartment, which was decorated exclusively by Havenly.

Our Director of Design, Shelby, coordinated with Sarah to create a space that would feed her inspiration, and was built around the central idea of entertaining. Sarah had great inspiration to work from, and already had her mind set on a few key pieces, like a rug, custom shelving units, and a fun neon sign reading ‘be here now”, which set the tone for the rest of the space. Here’s a look inside:

Initial concept

The open concept of the kitchen and living room lent itself to creating one larger entertaining space that would spill over from the kitchen and bar into the dining room and lounge space. Since the space is so small, every choice had to be highly functional, from storage ottomans that could both hold aprons and act as extra seating, to the shelves that hold glassware for dinner parties to using a bar cart as an entryway console.

The end result was a contemporary, Bohemian space that is completely unique and packed full of personality and function!
